Zach Deak Golden Boot Scholarship

Description

Established by family and friends in 2023 to celebrate the life of Zach Deak. Zach played soccer for Columbus East from 2007-2011, setting a single season scoring record that lasted for a decade. He was All-Area and All-Conference and went on to play at the collegiate D2 level. He was studying to be an oral surgeon when he was in a fatal car accident July 2023.

Criteria

Graduating seniors from Columbus East High School planning to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree.
Applicants must have played two years of varsity soccer during their high school career and exemplify the following characteristics: a true passion for soccer, hard work and competitiveness.
Special consideration will be given to players who plan to play soccer in college and/or pursuing a dentistry degree.
Additional letter of recommendation from soccer coach required.
