Increased Impact Through Community Support

Through the support and commitment of various groups, Heritage Fund is able to make a greater impact in our commitment to build a Bartholomew County.

Columbus Capital Foundation

CCF was established in 1994 to support Heritage Fund, the city of Columbus and Bartholomew County by preserving and maintaining land and buildings of historical or architectural significance to the community. Columbus Capital Foundation also exists to acquire key properties for future development.

Landmark Columbus Foundation

In 2015, Heritage Fund launched the program Landmark Columbus to increase the focus on the landmark projects of the Columbus area with the mission to demonstrate what design excellence can mean to a community, earned through discipline, proven in public, and cared for as a legacy for the future. Its vision: small to mid-sized cities trat design excellence as essential to building communities worth committing to. Columbus provides the proof, methods, and shared knowledge that others can adapt.

The organization works through four focus areas:

  • Exhibit Columbus tests design excellence in public through a biennial exploration of architecture, art, design, and community.
  • Progressive Preservation cares for design excellence over time through research, conservation, and stewardship of significant buildings, landscapes, and art.
  • Monumental Gestures offers the model to others by transforming public spaces through ambitious art experiences in Indianapolis and beyond.
  • Civic Design Institute defines the discipline and shares the methods through research, publications, and technical assistance.
