Dr. Robert W. Petry Memorial Scholarship

Established by Mrs. Rosie Petry in memory of Dr. Robert Warren Petry M.D. who practiced Allergy, Clinical Immunology and Internal Medicine in Columbus for 34 years. Dr. Petry embodied the same attributes of a cross country runner including dedication, endurance, strength, strong work ethic, positive attitude, mental toughness, loyalty and kindness. Cross Country runners care about their teammates as Dr Petry cared for his patients, family, friends and community.

Village Keepers Scholarship

Established by the African American Foundation in 2025, the Village Keepers Scholarship is intended to recognize outstanding black or black-biracial graduating seniors in Bartholomew County

Mary E. Behler Memorial Scholarship

Established by Mrs. Behler’s daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mike Keogh, in memory of Mrs. Behler’s strong faith and love of education.

Columbus Rotary Scholarship in Honor of Judson S. Erne

Established by the Columbus Rotary Club to honor club member Judson S. Erne, former principal of Columbus High School, for his many years of devotion to Bartholomew County – within the educational community as well as the social services community.

Betty F. Brown Awards for Instrumental Excellence

Established by Robert N. Brown in memory of his wife, Betty, who passed away in 1991. Mrs. Brown played an active part in the arts community in Bartholomew County and the state of Indiana.

Anna Newell Brown Awards for Vocal Excellence

Established by Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Brown in memory of Mr. Brown’s mother, Anna Newell Brown, a distinguished vocalist who contributed greatly to the cultural life of Bartholomew County. Both Mr. and Mrs. Brown served on the Heritage Fund’s Board of Directors.

Ann Ward Fine Arts Scholarship

Established in 2018 to honor the memory and celebrate the life of Ann Ward. Ann was a natural leader with a passion for giving back and helping others. Through this scholarship, Ann’s family preserve her memory by recognizing students who exhibit her values and her love for the arts.

Andy Critzer Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Andy Critzer, a member of the Columbus North High School Golf Team, who died in an automobile accident in 1985.
