Established to honor Steve Antcliff, who passed away in 2016. Steve was fun, full of life, a friend to everyone, and someone who had a tremendous work hard/play hard attitude. The scholarship celebrates his passion for helping others and his belief that education transforms lives.
Established in 2017 to honor the memory and celebrate the life of Sgt. Jonathon Michael Hunter of the United States Army. Jonathon was a natural leader with a passion for giving back. He gave his life in service of others. Through this scholarship Jonathon’s family, friends and supporters preserve his memory by recognizing students who exhibit his leadership, strength of character and selflessness.
Established in 2011 by Richard Gold in memory of his friend and colleague Bob Sonntag. Robert joined Cummins in 1990 and worked for 17 years in various business organizations and locations. He served in multiple manufacturing and business leadership positions and held the office of vice president of Capital Management at the time of his death in 2007. He was an early recipient of the J. Irwin Miller Award of Excellence in recognition of his character and contributions to Cummins.
Established in 2016 by his friends and colleagues, Ray Amlung would be proud to know that this scholarship is helping a local student pursue a degree in engineering. Ray earned his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville, joined Cummins in June 1982, and served in a variety of roles over the course of his 35-plus year career. As quoted by Tom Linebarger, chairman and CEO of Cummins, “He was a caring, compassionate person who was committed to giving his best each day to his job, his colleagues and his friends and family. His personal and professional accomplishments cannot be overstated.”
Established in 2009 by family and friends to honor the memory of Philip R. Miller and to promote interest and enthusiasm in the visual arts. Mr. Miller was the first art educator at Columbus East High School when the school opened in 1972 and continued in that position until his retirement in 2009.
Established by his family in memory of Phil Jackson, who died in 2006. Phil coached high school and fast-pitch softball in Columbus for more than a decade.
Established with a bequest from the estate of Mrs. Steinbarger to provide four-year scholarships to area students to attend Indiana University.
Established in memory of Michael R. Rogers by his friends and family to honor Michael’s dedication to Christian education.
Established in 1997 by the honorable Fred Armstrong, mayor of Columbus, with a gift of appreciation to the city from NTN Driveshaft. The city mayor serves on the Heritage Fund Board of Directors.
