Established by Chris and Shannon Clulow in honor of Chris’ grandfather Casey Fishe, who was very influential in Chris’ life and continues to serve as his biggest role model. Casey grew up in a very challenging environment as an orphan in foster care and later battling, like many, through the Great Depression. The challenges in his life did not diminish his spirit of determination, kindness and caring. Casey was a true giver, always putting the needs of others before himself and the Clulows are pleased to create this scholarship to honor his memory.
Established by Bob and Marcy Oswald, former residents of Columbus, to promote engineering education. Mr. Oswald is the retired chairman of the Robert Bosch Corporation in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Established in memory of two former editors of the Columbus Evening Republican (now The Republic) and dedicated to encouraging local students to pursue careers in journalism.
Established by his parents, Brent Hanger and Barb and Andy Carman, in memory of Blake. Blake was a 2007 graduate of Columbus North High School. He was a member of the Columbus North boy’s basketball and football teams. He was a 2011 graduate of Butler University with a degree in education. Blake was attending Logan College in St. Louis, achieving his master’s and doctorate in chiropractic medicine. Blake loved the city of Columbus and all the attributes the community had to offer. Blake would be extremely proud to know that Columbus students will be pursuing post-secondary education in his honor.
Established by the Last Will and Testament of Bill & Norma Perry to provide scholarships to graduating seniors at Columbus East and Columbus North high schools.
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Harter, longtime Columbus residents, to encourage higher education for residents of Bartholomew County. Bill served as an instructor at both IU Columbus and Ivy Tech State College for nine years.
Established by Linda, Jim and Jamie Behrman to annually honor a senior from the Columbus North High School men’s basketball team.
Established in memory of Becky S. Green by her husband, Monty Green. Mrs. Green taught business classes at Columbus East and Columbus North high schools and was a faculty sponsor of the Business Professionals of America Chapter at both schools.
